Bugs
| Using Java 6 Update 30. The popup color selector in the Artist board doesn't show properly. Mainly the HSB tab. I see the sliders and input boxes but to the left where there is supposed to be a colour selector, there is just a blank box. Tried different browsers just incase it was only Opera, same problem. -posted by PiMP at 3 Feb 2012 13:55 |
| Yes, I think this is just a bug in java. That entire window is created by java. I believe they are completely rewriting that code for java 7, so it should be fixed in that. -posted by admin at 3 Feb 2012 17:45 |

| User Lolz (166.137.13.19) has reported a problem to me to bring to your attention. While on her i-phone app, her user name in the "name" box is not registering into the chat box or the "chat to" box. Her name is not already present in the "chat to" box and I asked her to re-type her username a couple of times, each time it ends up refreshing and giving her a new Anon_number. -posted by Kutless at 3 Dec 2011 16:52 |
| It works fine for me...does this happen all the time? It sounds like she maybe was disconnected. Normally it should show up immediately in the chat window when you change your name in the options window. -posted by admin at 4 Dec 2011 11:06 |
| I'll see if it happens to her again next time she logs on. -posted by Kutless at 4 Dec 2011 14:49 |

| Just click on your name (where it says 'Hello catastrophe' at the top of the page), click 'update this info', then click 'Browse' (beside Picture) and choose a picture, then click 'Update Info'. If you have any problems, please post more details. -posted by admin at 22 Nov 2011 10:11 |

| Im having a weird problem where whenever I move my mouse over the board, it automatically draws where the mouse is. I've checked if my mouse button is stuck but, thats not the case.
I just hover my mouse across the webpage from one side across the board to the other side of the page and wherever the drawn line left off, it gets picked up from the same place when the mouse comes back across just... More -posted by PiMP at 30 Jul 2011 21:17 |
| Problem Solved. Recently started Java Development with Java SE 7 and apparently Groupboard had some issues with that version. Uninstalled Java 7 and everthing is fine again. -posted by PiMP at 30 Jul 2011 21:45 |
| i had that same problem with another version of java. glad you figured it out -posted by Kutless at 3 Aug 2011 11:47 |

| I was on the IP board and saved a picture. When the picture saved on the IP board the screen cleared on the IP version. The picture on the regular demo board did not clear.
I accidentally ended up drawing on someone elses picture. I'm wondering if any other users may have accidentally been banned because of this same issue. -posted by Kutless at 14 Jun 2011 19:47 |
the picture was of badgers, badgers are awesome. -posted by Phill at 14 Jun 2011 19:54
| nvmd, an admin had disabled clear and thats why the demo board wasnt clearing. although im sure it could still be an issue if the clearing is disabled on demo but the IP board still sees the board as being cleared. -posted by Kutless at 15 Jun 2011 19:41 |
| I don't think it's anything to do with the ip board. It's just that you must have saved it when clearing was disabled and you weren't logged in as admin. However it is in fact a bug - the problem is the java code doesn't check to see whether or not clearing is disabled when it clears after saving. -posted by admin at 16 Jun 2011 10:28 |

| Does anyone else notice the tools leave very light pixelage around the area you paint? I was wondering if this is a local computer problem or groupboard problem. -posted by PiMP at 28 Mar 2011 23:57 |
nevermind i figured out the problem. i use Opera web browser and applied a skin with transparency. can't technically explain how it was affecting a java applet but, heres a screenshot.

Thanks :) -posted by Byakuran at 8 Mar 2011 11:21 |
| Don't worry - happened to me too. It happens on firefox too, and there you can zoom without realizing it very easily if you're holding the shift key or something and you scroll using the mouse wheel. There's no obvious indication that you're actually zoomed in or out, and it completely messes up the geometry of java applets. -posted by admin at 8 Mar 2011 11:23 |

I copied Groupboard HTML code into a web-page and had the following problems: (note math=true)
1. when click on math icons url cannot be found - edited showicons() function by changing relative url to absolute url and the icons can now be shown - resolved
2. clicking on the board after selecting a math icon does not put an icon on the board - unresolved
3. Graphplotter window appears, but grap... More

| We fixed problem [1] a while ago, but I'm guessing you had copied the html code to your page before we fixed it. The other 2 problems are caused by your browser not permitting the cross-domain javascript call (if you check your browser error log you will probably see a security exception). The only solution for now is to either use the enterprise version (running everything on your own server), or else use an iframe so that the Groupboard html code is all hosted on groupboard.com. -posted by admin at 16 Dec 2010 10:20 |
If I use the Iframe version can I use the same HTML parameters like allow_set_background? Most of the Iframe options do not allow enough customization for the board to be useful. -posted by ccsterli at 31 May 2011 12:38
| No, the iframe version only supports some of the parameters. In order to use all the parameters you need to edit the HTML code. -posted by admin at 31 May 2011 15:28 |
Doesn't that make the JavaScript version useless if you can't use the graph plotter, background uploaded or icon selector? Some of the customization options also are pointless like allow_set_background if the user is unable to upload background anyway using the JavaScript version. Will the pure java applet with no javascritpt have the same errors? -posted by ccsterli at 31 May 2011 16:23
| allow_set_background defaults to true, so it will be enabled by default. Also, all the HTML parameters are available in the javascript version - you just need to copy the HTML code onto your web page and you can then adjust all of the HTML parameters. -posted by admin at 31 May 2011 16:27 |
Yes, I get that. But if as stated above, if a cross domain javascrip call doesn't work because of the security exceptions, then the graph plotter and background uploaded will not work. So I am saying that if you are using the groupboard designer(not enterprise) , the JavaScript version will not work 100% correctly. Do you see a work around solution anytime soon for the people that do not have the enterprise version of groupboard designer? -posted by ccsterli at 31 May 2011 16:53
| Ok, I see your point. I will look into adding these. -posted by admin at 31 May 2011 17:59 |
| We have now added allow_save, allow_load and allow_set_background options to the cgi scripts. Also you can now pass in any java HTML param by prepending it with 'jparam_' (e.g. 'jparam_background_red=50') -posted by admin at 1 Jun 2011 15:52 |
That's great. Thanks for your prompt solution. I'll test it out asap -posted by ccsterli at 1 Jun 2011 19:28

| A user was saying that the gallery is not loading pictures up all the way. It would seem to me that the pixel limit of the drawing board is larger than the gallery; however, I'm not sure. -posted by Kutless at 21 Jun 2010 16:11 |
| since its on the topic of pixel limit, the following URL has a different pixel limit than demo. I couldnt see things that were still being drawn. it also has the old message board on it.
