This document describes how to use Groupboard's user interface.
Whiteboard Canvas
Press the left mouse button to draw on the canvas.
Line/Font Size
Use these to choose the line thickness and text fontsize.
Tools
Draws freehand lines.
Draws straight lines.
Use for ovals and circles.
Use to draw rectangles and squares.
Draws solid circles and ovals.
For solid squares and rectangles.
Fills an area with the current colour.
Places text on your drawing.
Selects an eraser tool (white colour/large size).
Colour Palette
Pick one of these with your mouse to draw in that colour.
Press this button to open an extended palette of colours.
Chat Window *
The chat area (if enabled for your board) allows you
to chat to the other users logged on. To chat, just click on the
long input field at the bottom, then type in your message followed
by RETURN. The names of the other users appear in the list at the
right-hand side. You can whisper to another user by clicking on
their name. To change your own name, just click in the box to the
right of "Name", then enter your new name and press RETURN.
Other Controls
Displays the message board window.
Displays the games window.
Replace the white background with an image you can draw on top of.
Clear the entire design canvas ready for a new drawing.
Save your drawing to the gallery.
Take an image from the gallery so you can draw on it some more.
Prints the contents of the whiteboard.
Get some help (come here).
The buttons marked with a * will only appear when using the multi-user version of the board.
Page Tabs and Useful Links
Use the tabs to switch between different versions of the board:
Click on 'Multi-User' to draw or mark-up with the other users also logged on to your Groupboard.
Click on 'Single-User' to draw or mark-up by yourself.
Click on 'Gallery' for a list of pictures which have been previously saved.
