1. Huion 420 graphics tablet on Amazon for $25
The Huion 420 graphics tablet is available for $25 from Amazon. Ideal for use with both Groupboard and Groupworld:
Graphics tablets allow you to draw and write naturally with a pen on a tablet connected to your PC/Mac/laptop, and are used by many of our online tutoring customers such as MyTutorWeb and We Teach Science.
2. More brush/text sizes now available in Groupboard
We have recently updated Groupboard to have an extended range of brush/text sizes (15 instead of 10). The update applies to the HTML5 client as well as the iOS and Android apps.
3. Upload from cloud + improved freehand drawing smoothness for to iOS apps
We have updated the Groupboard and Groupworld iOS apps to use Apple's new "coalesced touches" API. What this means is that freehand drawing should now be smoother, as the apps will not lose any touches if your device's CPU is temporarily overloaded. (Android has already had this for a long time).
We have also replaced the dropbox upload feature in both Groupboard and Groupworld apps with a standard iOS "document picker". This means you can now upload from iCloud and other providers, rather than just Dropbox. The Groupboard iOS app also now gives the option to save pictures to the cloud.
4. Snap to grid added to Groupworld HTML5 client
A "snap to grid" option has now been added to the gridlines function in the Groupworld HTML5 client. This feature was available in the old Groupworld plugin client, and is now available in the HTML5 version.
5. Increased background image limit in free Groupboard
The maximum number of background images has now been increased from 4 to 10 with the free version of Groupboard.
6. Groupboard Android app now has over 100,000 installs!
We have now reached 100,000 installs for the Groupboard Android app. Please leave a review if you like the app, or let us know if you experience any problems. (The same applies to the iOS app).
7. Added ability to mute microphone/speaker in Groupworld
With Groupworld you can now temporarily mute your microphone and loudspeakers. Just click the microphone or speaker icons, and you will see a red X showing that they are muted.
8. Groupworld audio/video troubleshooting tips
If you are having problems with the audio or video in Groupworld, please see the Groupworld audio/video troubleshooting page.
A link to this page now appears automatically if permission is not granted to allow Groupworld to use the microphone.
9. Hebrew, Arabic and Japanese translations added
We have recently added three more translations to both Groupboard and Groupworld (HTML5 web version). The correct translation is used automatically, based on the language set in the user's browser. Languages now supported include English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Finnish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Hebrew and Arabic.
