1. Updates to Groupworld screen sharing feature

We have recently made some changes and bugfixes to the Groupworld screen sharing feature, including:

2. Now using HTML5 web app by default for Groupworld on iOS/Android

We are deprecating the Groupworld native apps in favour of the HTML5 web version, as it generally gives the best experience. We no longer prompt mobile users to download and install the app, and instead we simply direct them to the web-based HTML5 room.

If you still want to prompt your mobile users to use the apps, you can add &suggest_app=true to the link.

3. Full-screen video now available in Groupworld

You can now expand the Groupworld video to full-screen by clicking the full-screen icon in the other user's video window. Note that full-screen is only avaialble when WebRTC is enabled (which it is by default for new rooms), and only if there are exactly two users in the room.

4. Simplified URL format for Groupworld rooms

You can now access your hosted Groupworld rooms by using the following URL format:

https://www.groupworld.net/room/12345/abcde

(replace 12345 with your Groupworld installation ID, and replace abcde with the desired room name). You can use any room name, and the room will be automatically created with the default configuration when anyone connects to it.

5. Groupworld audio/video now works in Safari on iOS and macOS

Now that Apple has released iOS 11 and Safari 11 for macOS, WebRTC and audio/video capture now work in Safari both in macOS and iOS, with no need to download and install any plugins or apps.

Let us know if you experience any problems.

6. Save button added to Groupworld shared code/text editor

We have recently added a save button to the new shared code/text editor in Groupworld, allowing you to save the text in the editor.

7. Save and Select All added to chat right-click menu in Groupworld

The chat window in Groupworld now allows you to save or select the text in the chat window by right-clicking.
