New graphical javascript front-end which you can use on your own Groupboard
To see an example of how the Groupboard GUI can be customised by using Javascript, have a look at our new "Kidsboard" demo:
http://www.groupboard.com/kidsboard/This is an example of a graphical front-end being used in place of the standard java based GUI. You are free to use these graphics within your own Groupboard.
We are working on more example front-ends for the Groupboard, which should be available within the next few months.
Price reduction: 15 user hosted Groupboard now available for $59/year!
In order to make the full version of the Groupboard more affordable to non-business users, we have reduced the prices of the 15 and 100 user hosted Groupboards to $59 and $199 per year respectively. If you upgrade from the free Groupboard, as well as getting the larger user limit, you will also be able to increase the size of the whiteboard area and have more saved pictures and background images.
These revised prices will remain until further notice, and apply to both new boards and annual renewals.
New features: upload background pictures directly from your PC + flood fill
We have added a number of new features to the Groupboard. If you are using a board which is hosted on the Groupboard.com server (i.e. the free demo board or the 15 or 100 user board), these features will appear automatically on your Groupboard. If you are hosting the Groupboard on your own server, you will need to download the new release from our ftp site (the ftp location is the same as before - email us if you need details.) The new features include:
- The ability to upload background pictures directly (i.e. without them having to be placed on a website first). To use this feature, go to the following URL: http://www.groupboard.com/modperl_cgi-bin/fileupload.cgi
- Flood fill tool, which allows you to fill an area on the whiteboard with colour. To use this feature, simply select "Fill" from the pull-down list of drawing tools, then click on the whiteboard to fill the area.
