1. Latest version of Edge browser supports WebRTC and screen sharing

The latest version of Microsoft's Edge browser (based on Chromium) finally fully supports WebRTC for high quality audio/video conferencing, as well as screen sharing, so all Groupworld features can now be used in Edge.

(Edge has supported WebRTC for a few years, but it has never worked properly when connecting with Chrome or Safari users due to a longstanding bug).

2. London schools using funding to pay for private tuition for poorer pupils using Groupworld

Schools in England have access to Pupil Premium funding which can be used to deliver extra tuition to disadvantaged pupils at no cost to the students. A number of schools are using MyTutor to deliver online tutoring to their students with this funding, using our Groupworld product.

MyTutor are the largest online tutoring company in the UK, and have been using a customized version of our Groupworld product as their online tutoring platform since 2012.

Acuity is a powerful but easy to use web-based appointment scheduler with built-in payment processing, and it can be easily integrated with Groupworld.

4. Troubleshooting internet connection problems in Groupworld

We have created a video showing how to troubleshoot common internet connection problems in Groupworld:

5. New Groupworld features

We have recently added the following new features to Groupworld:

A "reset zoom" button has been added to the magnifying glass above the zoom slider at the right-hand side. Clicking this button resets the zoom to 100%, and resets the pan (scroll) to the centre of the whiteboard area.
You can optionally add an "insert page" button, allowing users to insert a blank page into the current position in the document.
You can optionally configure the gridlines so that each page can have gridlines on or off (rather than being on or off for all pages).
You can optionally configure rooms so that audio and/or video is off by default (until the user enables it).
The optional session timer can be configured to start when two users have entered the room.
The "delete current page" can now be undone using the undo function.

6. Screen sharing now supported in Safari

The latest version of Safari now supports screen sharing, so you can now use the Groupworld screen sharing feature in Safari. Note that you cannot share your screen from iOS.

7. Cluey Learning's group tutoring platform, using Groupworld

Cluey Learning have been using a customized version of our Groupworld product in their classroom software since 2017. You can see their new group tutoring user interface here:

Group conferencing uses Janus Gateway for high quality WebRTC audio/video with more than 2 users, and is available as a standard feature in Groupworld.
