This is an occasional newsletter which is sent out to all registered Groupboard and GroupWorld.net customers a few times a year.

GroupWorld.net now runs on Linux and Mozilla, and is easier to set up

GroupWorld.net is now a stable product, with no known bugs for over three months. Since the first release in December 2004, over 300 people have trialled the product with many customers now using it every day for online tutoring, internet meetings and other applications.

The main features of GroupWorld.net are whiteboard, audio/video conferencing, desktop sharing and 3d graphics (Windows only). It is similar to WebEx but at a fraction of the price (because it is self-hosted on your own broadband internet connection or company network), with the advantage of being fully customisable due to the use of a built-in programming language.

New Mozilla version of GroupConf voice conferencing module

We have recently released a new version of the GroupConf voice conferencing module, which now supports Mozilla, Netscape and Firefox running on Windows. If you are running a hosted version of Groupboard with voice conferencing, you will pick up the new version automatically and your users will now be able to connect using Mozilla-based browsers as well as Internet Explorer.

Focus java bug fixed: now no known issues with java and Groupboard

Release 1.5.0_04 of java contains a fix for the focus bug which caused the Groupboard password window to appear behind the browser. If you are experiencing this bug, just click here to upgrade to the latest version of java:

Groupboard Designer math tutoring demo shows use of clickable javascript icon tools.

We have redesigned the maths tutoring demo to show a useful new feature of Groupboard Designer in action. Using some javascript code, you can now place icons in a webpage, and the user can click on the icon and then click on the Groupboard Designer whiteboard to place the icon on the whiteboard:
